By default in Windows there are no options to Format the pen Drive in NTFS file system, but after some modification in settings given below, you get the options to format your pen Drive in any of the given Format: NTFS,FAT32 and exFAT.
I will give you instructions with screen shoot of Windows Vista, but it is also exactly same for Windows Xp and Windows7.
- Go to My Computer.
- Right click on your USB Drive, in my case it is PURUSHOTAM(H:)
- From menu select Properties.
- In properties window go to Hardware Tab. As shown in screen shoot.
6. In pop-up window select Polices Tab shown below in screen shoot.
7. Select Optimize for Performance and then ok and then Apply in previous window.
8. Now Format your pen Drive as usual but in Format window select NTFS instead of FAT32 as shown below in screen shoot. After the Format is completed , you have NTFS file system on your pen drive.
In Windows Xp and Windows7 the procedure is exactly same and having same options described above.
Note that you must have the administrative privileges to make this changes. If you have any problems just comment, i will respond within 12hrs.
